Trumpets and Notepads

Olive Garden 1889

i still miss my days when i was in highschool, both in VI and when i was studying in TIKL. i can still remember the laughs and tears i had during those 5 years of
studies,
band practices,
debate training,
tuition classes,
detentions,
prep,
and so much more....

my 3 and a half years stint in VI was a very memorable one.

i remember each day waking up at 5.55 in the morning to be the first one up and out of the house at 6.25. each morning listening to ERA.fm while my mom (never to complain...luv u mom!) drives me to school 20 minutes away...

upon reaching school, (usually the school would still be dark) i would be the first person in school to reach the canteen for my usual nasi lemak for breakfast... then by 7.15 we have to line up by the roadside for the daily uniform check by the prefects.

mind u, that if anybody to shows up without a name tag or tie then dentention is in ur schedule for that evening...

classes were ok in VI, nothing much different, but i remember my science teacher... cikgu Asrima (i hope i got her name right!) she was really good! i was really interested to listen to every word she said. she could have lied and i would still believe every single thing.

and then there was the band...

i really loved my tyme in the band...
the band really taught a lot about discipline and respect.
i still can never be late for anytin and i still call people older from me abang and kak, its a kind of like reflex due to the years of training...

i have to be tankful to the band for moulding me to be the man i am today.. and i apologise as to not be with u guys longer - as i need to move on...

tanx for the hardship, the many victories, losses, trip to italy, and most of all the friends i made along the way...

after 3 weeks in form 4 in VI, i decided to transfer to TIKL to concentrate on my studies...
wow! TIKL was so much different from VI! first of all, there were actally girls there..
hahaha!

school was actually so much fun there... even the atmosphere was different...
but u have no idea how hard it was for me to adapt to the lifestyle there... i actually almost lost my mind during my first week there, but i managed to stick with it.

during my time there i actually couldnt commit myself wit any uniform bodies as i feel nothing can be compared to my time in the band..
by my second month in TIKL, i was drafted into the debate team...
i found it really interesting and i agreed to participate.

it was a real roller coaster ride being in the debate team, there i learned ho to study more affectively, how to not sleep at all and still performed well the next day and i also found two individuals who have become like family in my life even till today... our debate team actually was the national champion for Piala Dato Dr Noor Azmi for 3 years! hee...

it was fun and i totally enjoyed the time i was in that school...
the frenz there was really life changing as well..
(maybe i should leave this topic for another post)

as a conclusion, i believe everybody SIMPLY misses and loves the time when we were in school, but life moves on and i think we should use all that we have learned in those 5 years of torture to prepare for SPM and make ourselves a better person and and remember all the people that has helped us along the way... tanx Pn Marina and Mrs Leela

cardigans and questions.

Caf Terrace Night

hi there everyone!
i felt so stressed these last couple of days coz the internet connection here in uia is like so sucky! atlast i manage to update my blog due to the kind gesture of Kak. N. lots of thanx to her!

so wat happened the last two days?

well, not much actually...

but as i was doin my work last night, i saw this one group of frens...
i can now notice that guys now are really into wat they're wearing and how they are presenting themselves... more guys are dressing more trendily (is this even a word?). lots are starting to add layers to their outfits... more are wearing sweaters, cardigans and vests...

haha.. i can still remember the tyme during highschool when i was experimenting with fashion...
i was wearing this cardigan (if i can remember correctly) to an event at school...
i can still remember the glaring eyes of the teachers and student as if i had my shirt backwards or somtin...(mind u that i went to a somewhat religious school). after that i incident, i never again wore anytin even slightly trendy to school.

and then last year happened...
an ex-teacher of mine called and asked me if i was interested in teaching as a temporary teacher at my previous highschool... i was sceptical of my abilities to teach but i said YES in the end...

i enjoyed myself working for the school, mostly because i was now actually colleagues with those who once were my teachers... they did HELP a LOT! with everytin while i was there and i actually felt welcomed... hee!

one day, during my many days of classes, a student actualy asked me about sometin related to wat we were discussing that day. i had no clue wat the answer is... so i just simply told the guy,

'kalau saya bagi tau semua benda kat kamu, cam mana kamu nk blaja kan?
kamu cuba carik kat buku text, minggu depan awak bagi tau saya apa kamu jumpa...'

hahaha....
i actually went back to the staffroom and asked for the answer from every history teacher available on that day!
hahaha

the next week, both of us forgot about that incident.
and the question was forgotten...

as a conclusion...
i really dont have one actually.
well, i guess just make sure u SIMPLY noe ur stuff b4 becoming a teacher.

toodles!

Mawar Bersinar?

Vase mit Sonnenblumen

today i wanna talk about my experience in parenting class today...
first of all i just wanna say that my ustaz ROCKS! he is totally funny and have made my experience in a university requirement class a bit more bareable...
hahaha!!

on my way to class, i actually fell into a drain... the grill which was actually suppose to prevent people from falling into the drain was crooked and slipped off from under my feet.. the result being a bloody ankle and a busted laptop...
huhu.

we start off the class actually quite late, around 8.20.... but its ok. the lecture started of with the revision of last weeks topic which was about the conditions of a marriage... BORING! then we moved on to the basic conditions of a successful marriage. the ustaz said sometin about a family must produce good members of the community... hehe. as if we can produce goods like factories do... i now realise that one day i may have a child. how am i goin to raise that child into a hardworking member of society?

well, lets not think about it now... lets stick with the topic on hand...

the lecture today was actually about the rights and responsibilities.
first about the rights of a husband

1. the leader of a family
2. must be respected by the family
3. the wife must satisfy his sexual needs... hehe. (the ustaz refuses to elaborate)
4. no optional fast and solat without his approval.
etc.

wat actually that makes the class so memorable was the part bout the rights of the child.

the ustad explained that upon the wife giving birth to the child the husband must lafaz the azan to ear of the child lightly...
(not using the microphone incase of the parents trying to record the event...)

then we should also treat the baby with sweets like honey and kurma.
(not chickedees or ice-cream, ok?)

then we should give a name to the baby that have a good meaning..
ustaz explained that lately parents like to mix their names in order to name their child.
for example, the fathers name is Mazlan and the mothers name is Faridah. the parents then came up with
'Mazdah'
as the name for the poor child...
hahaha.. kesian la the kid.

he also said somtin that lately people also like to give names originating from malay words..

the example given by ustaz....
'Intan Terpilih..'
kesian la manusia itu

as a conclusion, dont SIMPLY give the name for ur child without ever thinking about his or her future... yes, i noe it sounds cute when he or she is a baby but imagine growing up and meeting a client whos name is
Mawar Bersinar?
dont you feel sorry for the person?
hahaha!

Toodles!

whiteboards and towels

there was once a time when i was very eager to go to classes... well, i still do... but lately things have changed slightly... there is one particular educator which have really changed my impression of lecturers... this wonderful individual have been saying really unapropriate things. i dont really noe if this person said it intentionally or not, but it does not matter...

Bridge at Arles

all i noe is that an educator must not be saying those kind of things about a student... if one says a student is 'bodoh' then what does it show about the person that is suppose to be teaching that student?

this person also said to us that we are not to take anytin from the hotel room especially the towels and tv!

TV?
wat the hell?
how in the world are we suppose to smuggle a tv?

but that is besides the point....

those kind of words SIMPLY should not come out from a mouth of a person we as students have entrusted to be teaching and educating us... PERIOD! but yet life moves on, and i will patiently wish that she will realise that wat she has said was wrong and apologise accordingly..

coz wat she said actually hurts.

today, is a really, really lazy and sleepy day... i was having a real hard time staying awake in class... tying to avoid from the lecturer seeing my eyes being crosseyed.

have u ever experienced those kind of days when u just feel tired and inneed for just a few minutes of extra sleep? just because yesterday was a holiday?

hahaha...

it seem when u go back to your home during ur holidays, your body adapts quickly to the easy lifestyle at home. but when the holidays are done, the body refuses to work in the high pace condition it use to work in prior to the holidays...

SIMPLY said, our body just needs a few moments to gear back to working conditions... hahaha..

my notes from the class today

so.

10 things about class today:

1. j was not there...

2. i was soooo waiting for the break

3. i remembered somtin about sampling techniques today

4. that mean is the same thing as an average...(same thing we learn in form 1)

5. i had a chicken curry pau during break...

6. i was sitting beside ustad

7. i was playing around with jai and wawad most of the tyme.

8. the differerence between a heterogeneous and homogeneous set of data

9. that atleast two people are required to manually get the spot speed of a vehicle

10. everytime the lecturer looked at me i nood in agreement to watever he said befor eventhough i was not listening...

so, as a conclusion...
pay attention in class and give the lecturers the due respect the deserve, not like me today...
so that hopefully the lecturers realise the respect we give them and treat us with respect as well...

toodles!

Of sitting or squatting?

Starlit Sky over the Rhone River

the loo,
lavatory,
water closet,
the comfort room,
the dunny,
netty,

or most of us SIMPLY call it the toilet.
its a place we go to evryday and always sceptical of its cleanliness...
but have we ever seriously thought of which one is better of the two?

i personaly have always favoured sitting and was also trained as a child to use the sitting one... but this is totally not the case anymore. do you still remember the dreadful condition of the toilets in primary school? surely if u have the choice whether to use it or not today as an adult the answer would be

NO WAY!!!

i can remember holding for dear life the urge of going to the toilet just to avoid going to that dreadful place but later after a few years of mental torture, we manage to step into highschool... i was fortunate to go to a school with really good people who are well verse in the art of using the toilet...

so now, as we go older... we hear these remarks on the usage of toilets in our daily life. for example:

1. u shouldnt use the sitting kind as its really dirty coz people dont really clean them properly..

2. u can get AIDS and HIV from sharing toilet seats...(total lie!)

3. dont use the squating kind as u are more prone to constipation...

and the list goes on...

well, the thruth is, i still prefer the sitting kind as i feel the squatting kind too barbaric for me... i sometimes feel 'malu la' to squat.. hahaha...

but lately squatting is the way to go... i feel its cleaner and safer...

this entry also reminds me of the tyme around 10 years back when cases of parents who stuff their babies inside toilets... i still cant imagine wat in gods name would drive them into doin such things to little innocent babies who cant even defend themselves... all i noe is that most probably those people will be rotting in hell...

i also remember the tyme when horror movies like to potray toilets as scary places with lots of nasty things happening in them... like ghost crawling up from the toilet and the one which stares at u from above the cubicle when u are doin ur business... i can still remember staring all around the cubicle, scared and nervous. hahaha...

wat? i was still a kid then...
im guessing u guys did the same thing back then..

so, as a conclusion...
chose the toilet closest to the door as people usually aim for the furthest. this also means that the one closest to the exit is the cleanest... im not joking! this is a proven fact tau...

toodles!
