hello everyone!

it has been awhile hasn't it?a lot has happened.

and above all is that ive graduated UNI!!! hooray to me!!

and second, is that ive started working in a school as a teacher!!

even though ive failed to get myself chosen as a Teach for Malaysia fellow,

ive decided i wont say no to my dream to become a teacher.

i feel strongly about the profession therefore, nothing would be stopping me.

yeah, i know that after 5 long years of studying for myself to be an

urban planner may seem as a waste, but nothing is a waste when u are

intelligent enough to use what u have learnt in a different context than

it is usually used.

as ive learnt in planning is that an action should always

be supported by goals and objectives. therefore proper steps can be formalized to

achieve the goal intended. this is something the teaching profession have been

doing for the longest time. so, no worries there.

planning also have taught me the benefits of being able to understand a lot of things

outside of my comfort zone. as the saying goes, a planner is a jack of all trades.

that is also very important in teaching.

i m currently employed as a Malay Language and computer teacher in

Sri Utama schools. it is a private school located in Sri Rampai, near to wangsa maju.

a lot have warned me about the difficulty teaching in a private school

and i do agree but it is nothing out of the ordinary.

my brief experience teaching a government school is no different.

yes, some students are naughtier than other but any school is the same.

i m enjoying my first 2 weeks here.

and i can see myself working here for many more years to come.

wish for the best and hope all is well.

ive attended loads of weddings before,

but never of a friends wedding,

and surely nothing of this scale..

some of u might have already known that ive been

playing the gamelan for a singer called Amirah Ali..

and tanx to her that ive had the opportunity to perform

on many stages around KL where i couldnt even dream of to

performing before.

so just now i attended her wedding to Mr. Patrick Treback

at the Pullman Hotel, Putrajaya which was such a spectacle

it puts the Merdeka Day Parade to shame! (as the MC stated)

the only pic i manage to sneak in with the newlyweds.

they were so busy..

i was kinda feeling sorry to stop them in their tracks.

the food was awesome!!

i loved the lamb and the char kuey tiow!!

its was sort of like a garden wedding so mostly the younger generation

opted of the standing portion of the dining area.

Patrick who is a music lecturer in UiTM

even did a quick performance on stage

playing some smooth jazzy/soulful music.

as like any person holding a camera,

we would take pics of ourselves

while secretly hoping that everybody could be seen in it.

in the middle of the courtyard stands two tents/gazebos

that holds a gamelan team in one tent and a fusion indian music groupin the other..

they were the one who kept the music going while the people were eating their

way to diabetes earlier on.

i honestly thot there was two separate events goin on!

hahaha..

i was so shocked at the scale of the wedding reception.

we even manage to take pics with Patrick's parents

who for the first time has flown to Asia from the US..

they were such lovely and friendly people~

awww...

it was such a marvelous reception,

and i was so fortunate to have been able to share the night

with the lucky couple.

tanx for inviting me kak!

and may u have a wonderful future with Patrick.

one that is lived with heart and soul.

according to Brain Tracy, There are four types of decisions, although they can be expressed in different ways. He who often uses enumerated lists in his talks, breaks them down into:

1. Command decisions,

which can only be made by you, as the "Commander in Chief"; or owner of a company.

2. Delegated decisions,

which may be made by anyone, such as the color of the bike shed,

and should be delegated, as the decision must be made but the choice is inconsequential.

3. Avoided decisions,

where the outcome could be so severe

that the choice should not be made, as the consequences can not be

recovered from if the wrong choice is made.

This will most likely result in negative actions, such as death.

4. "No-brainer" decisions,

where the choice is so obvious that only one choice can reasonably be made.

a man is always defined on the decision that he/she makes.

we may not agree with this point but it is true.

a person who will always be seen as an asshole because u decided he is to be an asshole.

therefore he will always be an asshole until u decide to change ur decision.

i m always scared to make decisions as i always been very analytical.

i think of the recuperation of my actions so that that action would come back and bite

me on the ass.

luckily ive been very fortunate to have not made any decisions that

ive deemed very regretful.

well, maybe one, but that decision has mostly made me the person who i am today

so, i cant blame it that much :D

ok, on with the blog post.

i m currently on my last couple of months of uni

and im scared..

im scared to make decisions of the future.

ive no idea of what to do.

ive asked friends of why i m feeling this way

and the usual answer is that is normal to feel this way when ur a fresh graduate.

but im kinda reluctant of that answer.

ive always been the person who is sure of my path.

but im kinda stuck rite now.

therefore this feeling im feeling rite now is very foreign to me,

weird.

im not sure whether to bury myself in the urban planning field..

im not sure if i should carry on with the thought of stepping into stage performing..

im not even sure if im worthy of becoming a teacher as i would love to be..

everyone wants to succeed.

to have success in their hands and be happy.

i want to have the same thing.

n i thot ive figured everything already.

ive always thot i would work as a teacher until im 30 before i get married

have plenty of kids and go on trips to europe every few years..

and earn my masters degree and later open my own arts centre or book store.

hahaha.

dreams.

i wonder whats my next step is..

my blackberry is crap.

yesterday it decided to go die on me and

i m now left with a newly bhot rm88 samsung phone.

*dont get jealous yaw, it has a flashlight.*

i feel a bit weird to have to press a button 3 times

to type a certain letter. XD

hahaha. no wonder i didnt send a lot of sms's in the past.

so now my phone is at the workshop,

still waiting for the call to tell me whats wrong with it.

the guy said it would atleast take a week.

and thats only to identify whats wrong with it!!

today i just wanna share something ive really enjoy doing for the past year.

watching vlogs on Youtube.

According to Pilkington, Ed (2009),

Video blogging, sometimes shortened to vlogging (pronounced 'vlogging', as opposed to 'v-logging') or vidding or vidblogging is a form of blogging for which the medium is video, and is a form of Internet television. Entries often combine embedded video or a video link with supporting text, images, and other metadata. Entries can be recorded in one take or cut into multiple parts. It is also a very popular category on YouTube.

i find vlogs very entertaining.

these people are funny and its fun watching them acting all goofy

and silly for us. so here are some of my favourite vlogers to watch daily.

1. Olga Kay

Olga Kay is my fav vlogger and this is why.

she is just the most adorable and loving person ever!

shes funny, shes lovely, she has a really obese cat called Mooshka and she Russian!!

but i honestly would add that i believe she is not to everyones taste as

people would be a bit skeptical of my interpretation of funny but

for all i noe, her house mates and her daily struggles are hilarious!

2. iJustine

iJustine is long running vlogger who has literally i guess made videos about everything.

this girl is also heaps funny and not to mention gorgeous!.

what facinates me the most about her is her thick skin.

i dont think she is ever embarrassed over anything!

she could follow her sister to class, make prank phone calls to Apple store asking for papperoni pizza and many more silly things.

3. Tobuscus (Toby Turner)

an then theres this guy. a great personal friend of iJustine,

(actually i would think that they are dating.)

this guy talks in the speed to lightning!

4. Community Channel (Natalie Tran)

natalie tran is the first ever vlogger ive subscribed to and the first ever vlogger

i ever watched. she is of Vietnamese decent and her family has migrated to

Australia. ive always loved the sound of a Australian accent therefore i love listening to her

talk. what is awesome about her vlogs is that she talks about such random things.

from the feeling of long forgotten diaries and how she hates that people replaces the need for a

wiping cloth with their hands. this is a must watch.

5. Wheezy Waiter (Craig Benzine)

craig is a musician. i famous one (if i might add) in the youtube community.

but he also makes really awesome vlogs.

his vlogs always starts with some sort of news from some part of the world and then he

gives his comments about it (usually painfully funny)

i hope u guys would give these people some

love and subcribe to them on YOutube.

so i get annoyed easily. when i get annoyed over one matter it makes it

that much easier for me to get angry on the matters that ive mentioned in my last post.

but it does not mean that im always pissed.

yes, i get angry but one trait does not define who i am.

people are much more complex that to be defined or classified in a single group is just silly.

nor can a person be defined over an action that he/she has decided to do on

one particular day. its much harder than that.

but dont get me wrong, a person must still know how to differentiate between the

good and the bad. the Quran has stated that once a person has reached the point of

baligh (maturity) that he should be able to decide for himself what should or should not

be done. therefore he must be accountable for his actions.

but that is different topic all together.

that may involve crime, sin and judgement.

who m i to talk about that right?

i m just a person who wished he took a degree in Law. T.T

i dont like to judge a person without actually knowing the person.

i see that happening sooooOOO often these days.

in the internet, on the newspaper, its everywhere!

kids are fighting over stuff i dont even understand

how it could be a problem in the first place.

for example,

theres this girl group who is trying to debut in Malaysia called

Gula-Gula.

from what ive read,

they strive to be seen as a Kpop-ish Malaysian Group (Mpop)

they came out with a teaser poster awhile ago and

it is seen that the girls sport matching outfits mimicking groups like

4Minute, Girls Day and such..

the problem lies with the bad reception they are getting from people

all over the country.

people are saying that

1. they are wearing such skimpy outfits that puts Malaysia to shame.

2. why do we need a kpop-ish group in malaysia anyway?

3. that the girls are short and ugly.

i personally dont have a problem with the group.

who knows?!

they could be good.

its not like they have come out with music yet to be judging them so harshly.

i dont think its a problem with what they are wearing,

yeah, i get that its a bit skimpy, but come on people,

have u seen the girls in Malaysia these days?? this is actually kinda not so bad..

come on malaysia, dont tell me you havent seen worse.

dont be a hypocrite.

and i understand why a production company is going with this..

kpop these days is making huge money worldwide.

kpop sells.

the industry generates a lot of money.

why not take full advantage of it?

beside, its not like the Malaysian music industry is going anywhere right?

this could make for good competition.

*who noes, im being optimistic again*

come on people dont be stupid and start judging

things that we have yet to have any knowledge about.

learn to give things a try.

if u still dont like them after giving them a go,

then u can return to the comforts of your akademi fantasia tu.. *pfft!*

10 Things I Really Hate

1. I hate people who cant properly stop their vehicles before the yellow box

at intersections until the point that they cant even see the red light turn green

and the people have to honk to make him go!

as u may assume, i have road rage.

2. I hate it when relatives think i that im a smart and great student coz i noe im not

and i really was one i would still not tell any of my relatives coz they would totally

not be discrete about it and the whole clan would be expecting so much.. but the

root of the problem is still the fact that im stupid. yes.

3. i hate packing and moving. it doesnt matter when i am moving from nor where i am moving too, i always end up not finding things that are important! and it is really a problem coz i

have so much stuff and most of it are not even mine, (its borrowed) and i need to return them but i cant find where ive put it. so yeah. stress.

4. i hate that throughout all my life that people think that i good in english. to tell u the truth

i would only call myself mediocre at best. its either this people have really low standards or they really dont understand english that well at all.

5. i hate that friends think that people should act bitchy as appose to being fake. i understand that being bitchy is fun and the world would be so less interesting without people like that, but in truth, these people are just there to create lies and conflict. nothing is really gained from acting like that.

6. i hate when people say. "are u the youngest of ur siblings?"

and continued by saying "aahh, no wonder" when i say yes. wat the F is that suppose to mean?

did u do some research on the parallel similarities of youngest born child in the family that we have this traits that makes us deemed similar?

7. i hate it when people who im not really close with say that they noe me.

i especially hatex2 it when the thing that they say they "know" about me is wrong...

i dont say to people that i noe them well even if i do coz people change. and things that they do also change. the only being that noes that individual well enuf to say that is GOD and ur mom.

8. i hate people who cant understand that i love doing stuff on my own and i dont rely on people to have fun. i have my own set of stuff that i love to do and i believe everyone does. its just that i enjoy spending some time with myself. preferably with really great internet excess.

9. i hate people complaining that. i hate that i tend to complain as well.

complaining wont get you anywhere. especially if u complain about somebody

behind their back. i noe somebdy like that and i honestly wish he would

just die being role over by a steam roller. that is how annoyed i am of these people.

why do that? why do I do that?

10. i hate backbiters. if u dont like me. fine. enough. i honestly do not care. but why

spread hate to the world? if u really want to one up me u could simple just approach me?

im not that scary. im just relatively mean. i can understand that people could not be

friends with everybody they come in contact with. that would just be a miracle. but

spreading hate like that is just a low blow. its disgusting and not to mention sinful.

there u have it.

its been awhile since ive did a review on my

favourite beats and sounds at the moment.

so thats what im want to do today..

so first up is the song

"Pink Rocket"

from the group

Dal Shabet

this is relatively a new group in the kpop

scene as they kinda debuted earlier this

year and this song being their second title single.

what makes me actually hating myself for loving this song is

due to the simplistic nature of the song.

if u actually listen to the instrumental

version of the song which i downloaded,

the song has really simple beats

*except for the raping part.*

but i guess thats the reason why this song is in the

top 7 song of the Inkigayo song chart..

even being such a young group.

another song that i really enjoy at the moment is a song by my favourite

kpop group. this song is a very recent song and has only been realised last weekend.

"Shampoo"

After School

this song has resulted in the group for the first time since a year

ago to be able to perform together.

throughout the whole year this group has been doing solo and

individual promotions and in their official twitter account has mentioned that

that they have really missed performing together and have been working hard

for thier comeback performances.

this song is penned by Danshi Dance who also wrote the

song "Haru Haru" by Big Bang.

and comprises of a subtle piano melody.

simply put, i love this big group of hot ladies and watever they

come out with, I WILL LOVE!

the next song that im totally in love is a song that

i actually gave little attention to before but fell head over heels when

Hailey Reinhart sang it during last weeks American Idol

"Rolling In the Deep"

Adele

im totally loving her voice

*ive been in love with her voice even before this song, dont get me wrong*

i can totally understand where this song come from...

it makes me feel angry and hurt..

and gives me this sensation of reminiscing old memories,

its like so weird. XD

but yeah,

this song its not as complex as many

of the electronic sounds out there...

but i guess its nice to give your head a rest from all that

music that revolves around it being visual.

to be music for the ears not for the eyes..

Skyscrapers in a Kampung

Last year my neighbor sold their land to a local developer.

they were the first one to give in to the stress of living in Kg Baru

*i dont find it stressful pon actually.. but well..*

they were the first one to do so from out street.

we were actually shocked that they did as they didnt tell

any of the neighbors of their plans..

i know its kinda stressful to be living in this part of town..

with all the promises from the government,

and the way politicians talked on the news as if the people living

here are social outcasts and dumb..

but hey!

who ever listens to politicians nowadays right?

so screw them..

but what to do, they moved..

*in a hurry i might add*

and the sad thing was that they had a really cute and loving cat..

named "Janggut".

they didnt bring him along.

they left him here.

my mom who is a cat lover was shocked at how

heartless my neighbors (ex-neighbor) were..

everyday for a few months, the cat would wait in front of the

door and call for the door to be opened so he could go in.

it was heartbreaking...

my mom would occasionally go next door

and leave a plate of cat food so that

the cat wouldnt literally die waiting infront of

the door waiting for his owner to come back.

but now, a year later,

Janggut mostly live in our compound as

the house next door was demolished to make way for

a 50 floor service apartment!!

which brings us to the main story of why

i m so angry right now..

first of all, the property next door is not that large in the first place.

how can they decide to make a service apartment??

plot ratio out the window???

second, the lot is like 2 metres from a residential land.

literally 2 metres from the structure of the house!

imagine the damage the construction of a 50 storey building would do!?

so today,

the people from the developer came to look at the house and take

pictures of the house before any construction would take place.

i guess they want to use it as reference when we would sue the ass

out of them if anything wrong would happen to the house...

*hopefully no construction worker falls down and break his neck on our Astro disk*

so yeah,

why do we need to have a 50 floor building in Kg Baru?

why is Kg Baru under so much ridicule in the first place?

this place is a historical landmark for Malays in Malaysia.

it has come to its 111th anniversary this year..

and this is the only place to see traditional

Malay houses in Kuala Lumpur nowadays.

everyday i see tourist walking about the streets looking at the houses

that the politicians so called rundown houses.

i feel insulted that the politicians still cant grasp

the idea of preservation and conservation

within that little brain of theirs.

but yeah,

i love this place.

i was born here,

i was raised here.

i shed tears here.

ive lost blood here.

this is my home.

and it was my great grandfathers home.

but i have a feeling that i wont be

able to raise my children here.

everybody is fond of where they come from,

as do i..

and everybody has their very own special

reason as to why its extra special..

for me mine is special because this

is the house *that as i mention just now*

that my great grandfather built almost a 100 years ago.

some people say that as people age, they get more mature.

but this is not true as

Sheldon and Kesser have proven in their book that,

"While it has been shown that older persons are generally more mature,

psychological maturity is not determined by one's age."

so basically,

if a person age does not go parallel with a persons maturity,

does it mean that it depends on the mental age?

this is also a no.

it is generally believed that the process of maturing is

learned rather than instinctive,

and is not determined by one's age.

u learn to become mature.

u dont inherit maturity,

and maturity does not come to u in a dream, ok people.

*tsk*

it comes from living and learning from life.

i guess the problem lies when a person thinks he/she is mature

and to have live life enough that

he does not see that the cycle of maturing never ends.

i dont think somebody ever stops learning how to act and be mature.

but the thing is being a mature individual is so hard!

it is much easier to retort to things and being an ass.

i usually hate it when people treat me like i dont know stuff

and as if its my first time doing it.

i usually tell people if its my first time.

so people can have a rough idea of the product that

i would produce. so if i dont say that its my first time,

it means that i have done it before and u can keep your

stupid sarcastic comments to yourself.

thats the deal with malays i guess.

not generally saying everybody...

that we think highly of ourselves.

and we like to make ourselves look or seem superior.

especially in the working environment.

(ok, i get it. when u work,

u want to put ur best foot forward. bla bla bla)

but one should not resort to lame comments

and being sarcastic to collegues...

i dont think its right to assume that u noe everything...

as a matter of fact i think its stupid when u do..

so, on a personal note,

i dont care to try and get close to people who i do not generally care for.

so i usually act in a generally perky and happy me and

try to restraint myself from making any comments

of what not that would make me seem as i would care at all.

i would also like people to do the same to me.

i dont want people to act like they are buddies with me.

i dont want people to make comments like they noe what i like or do not like.

i find annoying and i hate it.

so. all in all,

i just like to have people to start thinking

of what they are saying, or sms-ing or commenting or what not..

its not hard.

a second to think about it would solve hours of conflict later.

so.

i try to be optimistic and believe that everybody has a good side.

but that good side will also have shadows.

what is that shadow signifying to you?

is it immaturity like me?

or is it somtin worse?

hye peeps.

ive always loved the indian culture.

the colours, the dance, the music, the life..

and it is only natural that i dream to go there sometime soon.

so, my bestbuds and i gathered one day and talked about it.

and the result being that

shaqyl, vini, hazey and i are planning to

go backpacking next march to india!

YIPPEE!!!

im like uber excited and ive been bugging

hazey so much about the tickets. *sorry haze

but yeah,

we'll be spending a month there goin proli from

Kerala *the South of india

to Kashmir *which is the north

so as any one would be,

im like super excited.

and the plan would be that the trip is gonna be like

rm5000 each so i thought that i would be needing a job by atleast

July in order to successfully collect that amount of money.

so yeah.

need to find a job.

one that is not so permanent.

so that i could quit to take that 1 month long trip.

so far,

seeing that i not doing anything at the moment.

i actually thot of working partime somewhere.

but who in the right mind would hire someone whos only looking

for work for like 3 weeks?

so i passed the idea.

now, im stuck at home,

trying not to waste to much of money

*i wouldnt even go to the store to buy my facial wash*

so yeah.

im cheap.

and im planning to go to india.

so tell me,

whats the one country u would love to go

if u have the chance.

to those who didnt noe,

i started playing gamelan for an up and coming

Malaysian artist Amirah Ali for a few months now.

it was a long process before i finally did join and performed

together as during the end of last year, i was kinda busy with

other stuff.

so eventually at the start of the new year, when i decided to

stop dancing for awhile to make way for other stuff that

i had the opportunity to do this.

and its such a great decision.

Amirah Ali is an Internationally recognized singer/songwriter

if u havent heard any of her songs,

ill post a link later down below.

so,

its her vision to have pop music be incorporated with

world & traditional music elements.

so thats where we came in.

in the band, apart from the normal guitar, drums, and keyboards,

we have the bansuri (bamboo flute) and also the gamelan.

i also heard that Amirah is looking to introduce the Sape

into the mix. so keep an eye for that..

ive always enjoyed playing music.

(ive been playing music for 15 years.)

i also enjoy the roots and tradition of cultural music,

so this was very awesome for me to be able to be part of.

the band consist of such fun and awesome characters.

every single person is friendly and the first

day of rehearsal didnt feel awkward at all!

its a value most politicians look to gain in their people

so that the nation can work together as one entity.

in Merriam–Webster's Dictionary of Synonyms,

it states that unity is

defined as the state of being undivided or unbroken

while in islam,

unity is stated as the Islamic concept

of Unity of God, often referred to as Oneness of God,

in application to humans,

inculcates in man the realisation of the oneness of the human species,

and does away with all such barriers as divide man into racial,

ethnic and colour denominations.

This gives birth to the universal concept of equality in Islam.

well, basically unity is about combining ur

power and efforts for one cause.

so, why am i talking about unity after such a long hiatus??

ahha today,

after coming back from my weekly badminton game,

i passed thru the busy streets of Kg Baru.

there gathered a whole bunch of malay football fans

who has just witnessed the final match between

the team from Negeri Sembilan and Kelantan.

who won? i have no idea. i wouldnt care less.

so, there i witnessed a bunch of malay guys in red

all standing in the middle of the street where cars are suppose

to run on but are stuck cause of the people standing there.

these people are not doing anything~

merely standing and talking and laughing

over matters i would not want to noe.

the thing was,

nobody cared that there was such a

long line of cars gridlocked

due to these people,

i wanted to honked but i grew

scared of the fact that they could

in the end beat me to death.

so i merely cursed in the car.

i find this really interesting.

why was i scared?

i was scared at the fact that i could be gang banged by this group

of football fanatics who were all clad in red with their red flags and wat not.

malays are well aware of the power of unity.

but we are not aware of the things we should unite for.

malays are united when they see a chinese guy punching a malay boy.

*not realizing that the malay boy started it first.

malays are united at the all the wrong reasons.

i wish for a day when malays could rally unite to fight for better education for our children.

i wish for one day that malays could unite in the fight against domestic abuse.

i wanna see one day that malays would unite to stand for cancer!

i just want to one day witness malays to unite as Malaysians.

i do not understand why we keep on fighting?!?

and i dont believe anybody can answer that question.

happy Malaysia Day to all Malaysians.

I believe that this is such a great day to celebrate

and to be appreciated.

but being the first year of its initiation,

i can understand why its not relieving such a big response

from the public.

my mom complained to me about the why the big fuss about such

a day just a few weeks after Independence Day.

i got to thinking that the two holidays signify 2 very different

events and responses to the country.

one signify that the country is finally free from the grasp of

The British Rule and can finally try to stand on our own very asian feet,

( to only be a victim of international discrimination )

it also indicates the blood, sweat and tears that

many Malaysians had to go thru to gain that Independence.

Malaysia Day for me suggest a whole different meaning.

Malaysia Day would literally mean the formation of Malaysia

when Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak united.

Malaysia Day also signifies the uniting of the Malaysian

people and the lifestyle each person brings.

Malaysia Day celebrates the Malaysian integrity and tolerance.

it celebrates love and affection.

it celebrates friendship and persistence.

innovation and improvement.

Go Malaysia.

Silat Tari

ive been on quite a hiatus havent i??

well i have a lot goin on but to lazy to blog about it.

last tuesday the IIUM Cultural Unit had a promo

show during the 2010/2011 new intake taaruf week.

the nafastari had 3 days to practice and choreograph 3 songs to perform

imagine the amount of stress i was suddenly under rite after finishing my

practical trening!!

a new song in 3 days is not somtin easy to do.

luckily Cikgu Rudy was an expert in conjuring

somtin out in last minute situations like this.

so we did this silat tari contemporary dance for the first time

in the history of Nafastari.

it was awesome!

eventho it was last minute,

i can still see the beauty of the dance.

hahhahaa.

this could be the last time im doin a taaruf show???

how does it feel?

liberating!

hahahhaa.

Projek Angkat Rumah

last Saturday i took part in an event simply named

'Projek Angkat Rumah'

in conjunction with Urbanscapes 2010

the project,

which involves the teamwork of 250 volunteers

had to carry a 1.5 tonne house along i would estimate

1.5 kilometers due to the detour we had to take.

(ill explain later)

the parade of some sort started from

Sekolah Kebangsaan Sentul Utama

which is just about 1.3 kilometres away at around 9.00am .

the 250 people was divided into 3 groups and was accompanied

by a Chinese Funeral Band,

a Indian Lion Dance Troupe

and a School Kompang team.

it was so funny to look at if u were a spectator

with the Mascot being Mr Potato and 3 little midgets...

1/4 of the way to KLPac,

we came across as bridge which was to low for the house to be carried under.

therefore the team had to take a small detour and go with plan B.

but the detour also had its problems.

the route for plan B had a small bus parked by the road which made

the road to small for the house to be carried thru.

but due to the awesomeness of the police,

(the door was not locked)

he simply opened the door to the bus and told us to push the bus aside.

then we reach at the gate of KLPac which has a guardhouse in the middle of the

road which makes the house unable to pass thru. AGAIN!

but this time, the organising committee already had it planned

and rented a crane to pick the house up and put it on the other side.

Awesome!

in the Sentul Park we had to maneuver thru

Trees,

Electric Wires,

Electric Poles,

Banners,

Heat,

and exhaustion

but it was just fun and awesome to see

Malaysians to come together to help out in this unique spectacle.

the Project Director, Seng Tat who is a film maker

summed it as a way to show that stuff like this doesnt have to be done only by

a specific race in a kampung but also can be done in a City centre by

all type of races together.

Malaysians first, race second.

it may seem stupid for some and

pointless to others but i con only say to those people

SCREW U!

pushing the bus aside.

the house was damn heavy!!

taking a break by blowing bubbles!

enjoying ourselves there doing some shopping,

sitting, drinking, listening to people kareoke, listening to bands

more sitting down, more shopping, and just spending some great times with friends.

i left around 11pm

next week is the last week

im working in this planning firm.

it has been a roller coaster ride.

loads of ups and downs.

ive learnt a lot since my posting here.

about work, about workmates and also about life.

working here would be nice.

but i dont think planning is for me.

i want something more.

something bigger.

something that gives me more satisfaction

at the end of the day.

one day ill find that one job.

the one that tells me that im making a difference.

i just came back from watching this movie.

i can still remember the day when i watched the first movie.

i believe it came out when i was in kindergarten or maybe standard 1.

this movie reminded me many fond memories,

as any Disney movie would.

but i dont noe, maybe coz ive not been myself lately that i find this movie

very close to heart.

the movie felt honest in its message delivery.

it felt genuine and true.

i interpreted the movie as

when we grow up, we would alwaiz have items (in this case toys)

that we hold on to coz we find it sentimental and holds value.

but we must alwaiz remember that the memories would not die

if we let those items go, it would only allow

other people to create those same find memories as well..

growth is not about keeping and holding of memories but

knowing when to let them go so that we allow oursleves to experience new ones.

honestly,

i felt like crying when the movie came to an end.

15 years.

15 years have been spent knowing the characters in this movie.

all of them had a function and added depth in the movie.

its a pity that Bo Peep was sold off and didnt have any screen time.

but still my fav is Mr and Mrs Potato Head.

let me explain why.

they emulate a fine and dandy couple

yes, they do bicker and fight but u still can see and feel the love

they have for each other eventho they are only animations.

their teamwork and the fact they are alwaiz together makes them my fav.

it breaks my heart that the movie is over.

but as the movie thought me,

when we love somtin, we need to learn to let go

and let other people love it as well.

i give the movie a A+.

last thursday i was diagnosed with

High-Blood Pressure.

i didnt think it was possible for an active

person as myself to ever have this condition.

i initially went to the clinic thinking that i could have an MC

coz i was having fever and a really bad flu.

i came out as some who is suffering from

Hypertension and Pharyngitis.

Wat The HECK happened???!!?

wikipedia states that hypertension is:

Hypertension (HTN) or high blood pressure is a chronic medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is elevated. It is classified as either primary (essential) or secondary. About 90-95% of cases are termed "primary hypertension", which refers to high blood pressure for which no medical cause can be found. The remaining 5-10% of cases (Secondary hypertension) are caused by another conditions that affect the kidneys, arteries, heart, or endocrine system.

Singapore -part 3- Universal Studios

for dinner went to this chinese store which sells halal food.

its on the 3rd floor of Far East Mall on Orchard road.

it sells pretty good food.

i especially loved their Lemon Chicken.

we also went to Universal Studios located at the Resort World, Sentosa Island.

it was loads of fun.

it held 7 theme parks in 1 place.

there was Hollywood, New York,

Sci-Fi World, Ancient Egypt,

Lost World, Far Far Away n Madagascar.

there was so many people!!

n they said that there are a limited

number of tix that can be sold per day.

i guess it was sold out la kot.

OH!

ok, if u watch oprah,

u noe that she once did an episode where

she shared the 100 things she loves.

one of them is this type of popcorns known as

GARRETT's

the popcorn was humongous!!

and every single popcorn had equal amount of caramel

not like the one sold in cinemas in Malaysia.

and a small bag of CaramelCrunch cost S$7.

i wished we had bought more.

so, if ure goin to Singapore anytime soon,

make sure u buy me one bag.

Singapore -part 2- Chilly Crabs

for all of u who dont noe,

singapore is quite known to be one of the best places to have

Chilly Crabs.

so,

ive told my sis that i would like to try the chilly crab there.

( i havent even tried the chilly crab back in Malaysia)

so, we manage to fing this kedai makan somewhere in

Newton Circus where they have this safood grill stall which is Halal.

if u guys take the MRT, just stop at the Newton stop

and walk like 5 minutes across the road.

the chilly crabs are so huge ok!

the pincers itself are like the size of a young boys fist.

and its super yummy!!

and it quite easy to eat.

i was expecting it to be hard and messy but the

owner was really friendly and offered to break it into pieces for us.

we also ordered other dishes.

the sweet and sour squid,

the lemon chicken and also

the baby kailan.

everythin was amazing.

this is the crab.

super huge kan??

we ordered just one.

it cost us S$ 28.

and the whole meal was around S$70.

just lookout for this place if u want to try the chilly crab.

carefull to not come to late coz its a popular spot

for singaporeans to come and lepak ant night.

or just go to the kedai i went coz the owner is really helpful.

Singapore -part 1-

i arrived in singapore this afternoon around 12.30

but got stuck at the Singapore customs coz a Indian

family decided to bring along liquor true the borders without paying.

after an hour of waiting, the bus driver decided to leave them behind

and told them to get on the next bus.

so, after 1/2 n hour, me n my sis arrived at the CBD of singapore

and was greeted by Khai (my sis's BF. cool guy)

he took us to the foodcourt coz we were complaining that

we were hungry. we had some chicken wings and the ais kacang (pic above)

then we took the MRT to the Bishun district and took the cab

to the Yishun district where Khai lives with his mom.

so, long story short,

my sis n Khai are off to god noes where coz

my sis has a job interview.

i m alone in Bishun,

in COffee Bean coz i couldnt find the Starbucks

n was to Kiasu to ask for directions.

(i also dont want people thinking that im a foreigner

luckily i didnt wear my i 'heart' KL shirt.)

The Lion Country.

i dont necessarily agree with everything that Singapore

have done and wat my country have done to tolerate

their crazy antics.

but i got to say that im really excited to go there this weekend.

mainly for several reasons.

1. ive never been there, it may be the closest foreign land to

Malaysia but it is sad to say that ive never been there.

2. my sis have bought tickets to universal studios that cost

around $70 each. so, im expecting it to be really awesome cause

it costs so much.

3. i want to see my sis's future husbands family and where they live.

my sis is finally getting married next year, it is only natural that i want to

get to noe my extended family better.

4. i was really interested in the town planning processes and methods

Singapore have been using that have elevated their country into such a well

organised country.

5. if i have the time i really want to visit one or two art museums and

exhibitions. it is so hard to find them in Malaysia, apart for MAP, Rantai and a few

other exhibitions, Malaysians are pretty much art illiterate.

6. i want to try the food. being a food enthusiast, i love food. im wondering if

the food there is any different from wat we have merely 500km away.

emmm... cant wait for friday.

Relay For Life '10

today turned out to be a great day for me.

as i usually participate in projects that are

plain dumb fun in nature and not so mind boggling.

this time i was determined to join

Relay For Life

a yearly initiative organised by

the Malaysian Cancer Association

(or somtin like that)

to pay tribute, celebrate and to support people who

lost their lives, are still fighting and those

who have won the battle against cancer.

it was raining heavily b4 the event.

so the field we were suppose to have the walk in was

really muddy and nasty (as vini said.)

so i decided at 4pm to go to this event.

(the event starts at 6pm)

i was actually persuaded by Marina Mahathir to join

i was unsure at that point of time,

but due to her personal invitiation,

i decided to go immediately!

i was excited and pumped!!

(anyways how could i deny an invitation

by someone i look so up to???)

so, like a crazy monkey i called

everyone who i believed would want to join and

as usual, vini and shaqyl came to the rescue.

the highlight of the day was getting to take a pic with

an all time fav actress of mine.

i was giddy and all happy the whole night.

i was like a blond white fan girl screaming all night!

it was not even funny.

yesterday i went to this event.

overall it was cool..

many activities and stuff to look at.

n i really felt it could work to bring more youths to

be involved in healthier activities.

i didnt go bcoz i thot i was cool to go.

but, a dear friend (shaqyl) needed help

so i came and helped her out.

all in all. it was ok.

had the worst time of my life

n it was just very pelik when In-Team

i thought that it would be easier for me to post updates on my

blog as i m basically off campus and working as a trainee in Melawati.

but that is sooo not the deal i was hoping for.

i feel like i dont have time for anything now.

my zapin members are all around the place and we

cant get a decent show as there are not enuf people to perform for one.

my badminton buddies pon dh cam fed up coz i keep on blowing them off.

my work as the PR for asuhan seni pon dh ke mana tah pegi.

and by the time i get back home,

ill be pissed, angry, bitter and such in a bad mood that i dont even feel

like eating anymore.

(ok, eating is a big thing for me. i eat a lot.

not eating dinner for me is equivalent to a slow death)

Korean Pop Diva

its been awhile since i last post somtin on K-Pop.

ok, heres the thing with k-pop these days..

a few weeks ago, the k-pop scene had a rough patch due

to the bombing of the 2 naval ships in the Korean waters.

most of the music shows had to cancel their broadcasts up to like 4 weeks.

but in the past few weeks,

the k-pop scene have been graced with so many great acts

by among of the best they have to offer like

Lee Hyori (my fav),

Super Junior,

2PM,

f(x),

Davichi and

many more.

so,

a brief intro about lee hyori,

she's like one of the most loved celebrity in Korea.

she first debuted as a singer as apart of the girl group fin.kl in the late 90's

but later moved on as a solo artist when the group disbanded.

H-Logic is her 4th solo album and

she has written the title song album herself.

she may seem as a diva on stage but she has proven

herself as a funny women as permanent member of the famous

tv show "family outing".

today is a historic day in the Malaysian calendar..

i would like to believe that we Malaysians have learnt a lot from

the past and moved on toward a better future.

unity in Malaysia is a marvelous thing.

as Marina Mahathir mentioned yesterday in The Star,

that the Malaysian government could learn a thing or two from the

youths about unity.

im proud to be Malaysian.

im proud to have such a diverse group

of which i would like to call my friends.

it does not mean that i m immune from displaying

racist actions and thoughts intentionally or unintentionally,

like the other day,

my foreign fren from Sudan said that nobody

would like to sit next to him on the Putra LRT,

i can imagine myself, (if i dont noe the guy)

doin the same thing and preferring to stand,

mostly due to the fact that i hate body odour...

im sorry i feel like that.

ill try to change.

trying to adept,

trying to learn to accept.

that malaysia is diverse and unique.

Asuhan Seni

as some of u guys noe,

im a member of the Gamelan group

"Asuhan Seni"

its not actually a group in essence,

more like a musical class.

why do i say that?

coz we learn not just how to play the instrument in this

group but also we learn the theories and foundations of

traditional music.

taken from the groups facebook account, it says

Asuhan Seni merupakan satu program di bawah anjuran Istana Budaya yang dinaung oleh 20 orang ahli yang terpilih. Di bawah tunjuk ajar oleh pemain muzik Istana Budaya sendiri, iaitu Ku Zahir Ku Ahmad, kumpulan ini akan dibawa mempelajari pelbagai alatan muzik melayu, termasuklah gamelan melayu, alat-alat perkusi melayu dan lain-lain.

Objektif penubuhan Asuhan Seni ini termasuklah untuk menyebarkan dan merakyatkan seni muzik tradisional kepada generasi baru juga sebagai pelapis kumpulan Orkestra Tradisional Malaysia yang juga baru ditubuhkan baru-baru ini.

Main Dengan Rakyat - Rounders

as usual,

during the last sunday of the month,

MAIN DENGAN RAKYAT!

this time it was "Rounders"

the Malaysian substitute for

the game Baseball.

i played this game even when i was 10, 11 years old.

so, playing it again is a blast.

i think this could be the best MDR game ever~!

hahaha~

but the sad part was that there were only like 20 people

coz people keep on assuming that it is raining in Dataran Merdeka.

this is proven not true over the months as

it always rains in Gombak, Cheras, Damansara..

but it never rains at Dataran Merdeka.

maybe ada org g jumpa bomoh and prevented the rain from entering the area...

so, it was decided that MDR will be expanding its monthly games

to bimonthly.

so, 2 time per month!

on the second sunday and also the 4th~!

imagine that!

double the games, double the fun!

columbarium

i learnt a new word today,

columbarium,

never heard of the word b4 today,

it sounds like the name of a country.

but it actually means the place where people would

leave the urns and ashes of their ancestors and dead family members..

i have seen this place many times in the tv but

i never asked anybody nor

i find it important to noe wat its name before today..

but apparently its a contributor to a lot of planning issues in Malaysia.

emm.. why?

well,

there are three type of burial grounds in Malaysia,

first,

there is the normal burial ground,

where people bury the dead 6 feet under.

then there is the crematorium

where a lot of u guys would already noe is

where people of certain religions would go and burn the dead into ash.

as a form of disposing the body.

and lastly we have the columbarium

which is a place where the people who have been cremated

be stored in urns and placed on proper alters.

(like in the pic above)

the problem lies in the location of the columbarium.

crematorium have never been a problem as they are mainly placed

in close proximity of burial grounds,

but this is not the case with the columbarium.

they are often applied to be build near or within

housing areas which creates discomfort towards the malay

(or even the other races)

the authorities could not create a guideline to state that the place should be placed near to a burial ground coz the function of the place could be understood to be more towards sacred ground.. but other people would still say it involves dead people. therefore should be placed near a burial ground. it was very confusing, but in the end i think they decided that the columbarium is indeed a some sort of burial ground as it stores away the ashes of dead people.

i also found that these days PBT (pihak berkuasa tempatan),

are really selfish and do not understand the severity of their actions. i saw that,

yes, they are a few of them that are very committed to their work

but they somtims forget that their actions would affect a lot of people~

and they seem proud of wasting the tax payers money.

i think he is a really good example of a great planner.

the words he use.

the way he interacts and

the justifications the says

shows the many years of experience he has.

in the middle,

En Awang,

he's just weird.

in a good way,

but weird.

i was in this meeting from 8am till 6.30pm

that involves the discussion to amend the

JPBD(jabatan perancangan bandar dan desa)

planning guidelines.

i had to write the minutes to the meeting.

imagine the amount of things i had to write.

Rhythm In Bronze and Pollapo

tonite was a wonderful night..

after a long and stressful day at work

i got off at 6 and directly headed to KLCC

to watch the ever famous

"Rhythm In Bronze"

perform at the Dewan Philharmonic Orkestra.

ive always wanted to watch them perform

being a fellow gamelan player myself,

but i never knew that the RiB team consist of all female player

except for one single male.

their music is very divine and intriguing..

very dynamic, and very visual...

they were all dressed in white but i could imagine

the wonderful colours they were playing..

the RM10 pricetag they had for the tix were sooo cheap compared to the

quality of music they were playing.

i would have payed more. hahahah~

after the show,

the only thing that was in my mind was

"how the hell am i suppose to be competing with them in Terengganu???"

i wish that one day Asuhan Seni could perform at that standard...

the be able to produce that level of showmanship is awesome~!

for ur info,

this ice-cream has ice chunks in it..

hahah~ u have to try to understand tho..

the catch is, u can only get it in a few places,

they only sell it in Korean marts or markets..

but its worth the hunt tho..

later in the night i had dinner with Vini and Shaqyl again and we

made a list of places we want to go to have a food outing together..

My Life as a Trainee.

first day of work..

working as a trainee at a Planning firm called

Iktisas Planners Snd Bhd

came to the office really early,

even the office wasnt opened yet.

waited a few minutes,

a guy let me and mushi (the other practical trainee) in.

waited sumore at the lobby

as the people from my office has yet arrived..

finally a lady from my office came...

she identified herself as the person in charge of environment...

(i have yet to noe her name...)

we then waited a bit more in the meeting room upstairs

(my office is on the 3rd floor, no elevator)

then we were greeted by the staff and work officially started.

we started off folding maps,

then we moved to binding reports,

then we had to help out with MapInfo

(is a software planners use to digitally organize and plan land uses)

we got so bz in the end,

i was actually scared to go back even tho it was already 6pm.

haha.. lets just see wat tomorrow have in store for me.

owh~! my boss is kinda garang..

i think she's actually pretty nice and

she means well..

Uncle Aru

last night me, shaqyl and Vinnie went out to have the famous

Uncle Aru's tender Tandoori Chicken and his crispy butter naan.

it was a heck of a battle to get to the place.

with the mass traffic jam all over in KL and

Shaqyl's phone being dead and

have having Vinnie's Uncle to send her to the Zoo..

but we finally managed to reached the place around 9.15,

and we straight went for the food.

i ordered the tandoori, mutton masala and the garlic cheese naan.

IT WAS THE BEST NAAN I EVER TASTED!!

so, crispy and cheesy and naany!

i need to bring Sarah, Lola and AJ here..

they would totally love it!

this is the cheese naan!

u sooo have to try it sometime!

and the tandoori.

very good as well.

especially with the mint sauce.

we talked all night,

i cant actually remember about wat,

but i did remember laughing a lot.

emmm...

the spinach made all giddy and weird.

in the end i ordered another serving of tandoori

and another butter naan.

the kedai is somewhat a bit hard to find.

if it me alone with the task of locating that kedai,

i would probably take me an hour or 2..

its in ampang, opposite of Ampang Point.

haha.

so, next up on our culinary adventure is

to bring the girls to Sri Niara.

which the girls have no idea about,

which is very weird as they live sooo nearby.

today was my last day as a third year student in Uni.

next week ill be starting my practical training at a place

where i could possibly die of nervousness...

how was the exams?

it was pretty ok i guess.

thanx to the many spot question

and study sessions at McD

i had with

K.Pah, kN, and Tum.

as usual,

i have my end of the year photo shoot at the MainStaircase of my uni.

so, as the last day of exams,
i decided to reward myself with an outing with a few friend

i met thru RA.

we decided to go to Laundry Bar to watch a few bands perform..

but b4 that,

Aris, Shaqyl and i

had our dinner at this one new Indonesian Restaurant

at the Curve, this restaurant is a famous franchise which specializes on Sunda Food.

we had the specialty Bumbu Desa Chicken, Daging Rendang and the Gado2.

it was ok la..

not like i was blown away,

just .... for me.

then we headed towards Laundry bar and ordered the

Creme Brulee.

it was the best thing i ever tasted!!!

my goodness!!

IT WAS SO GOOD!!

hahaha..

anyhow,

lets do it again soon ya??

World Pillow Fight Day, KL Chapter

i had the best time today~!

it was the second time i joined in the KL Chapter

of the World Pillow Fight Day.

i get to meet all the people i dont usually get to see on a regular basis..

this month we decided to play galah panjang (again!)

we did play this game last year,

when the group was still at the introduction stage

and not a lot of people noe about

my team won this month!!

after the disappointing outing playing Lompat Getah

2 months ago!

yeay me!

i even managed to score a point for my team!

in the end the score was 2-0.

everytime MDR comes around,

i get reminded of 2 things...

1. the amount of energy one must have in order to play these traditional games, and

2. that im getting older and fatter that i cant run as fast as i used to..

Idealism Vs Realism

when we work,

should we strive for somtin

that is realistic or somtin that is ideal?

who decides whether a certain idea is

idealistic or realistic??

when we were presenting our final portfolio last monday,

we were commented that our plans were a bit idealistic

and they never envision Maran to be developed in such a way..

it may just be a learning exercise but

for a mere student, to be able to create an ideal world where

everything is nice and serene is the best feeling ever...

i do believe so.

no one should choose to live any other way,

and everyone should have a vision on how his future should look like.

i may just a student who has no experience in working as a decision maker,

but i truly believe that anything is possible if we believe in it hard enough.

a lot of people are under estimating

the power of the mind.

if we believe hard enough,

its only time till we'll make it happen.

the mind is a great motivator.

the mind can work wonders.

the mind is the most powerful weapon god have given us.

but progress can only start if we have

sufficient knowledge and wisdom.

owh! and excellent decision makers,

not the kind where they just argue on petty matters in the cabinet..

(sometimes it is painful to watch the things they discuss in the parliament..)

im not saying all the decision makers are incapable,

some are very good,

but

we need the kind who are not afraid to take a chance and move forward.

we need those believe in progress,

as progress will only start if he takes the first step.

yes,

i am an idealistic person.

and i do believe that the world

will be a better place one day.

Memories of Planning Studio.

goin thru 3 years of studio

was probably the hardest thing i

had to go thru yet...

i think ive probably lost a few years off

my life due the amount of stress i was

under all thru the 3 years...

but when we gathered together today

as a group to deliver our final portfolio

to our external assessors,

i felt that everybody was just trying to

just enjoy the last day we had together

as a planning studio student.

some of us even stayed till the very end,

till all the presentation boards where taken down

and all the equipments where returned to the office.

its funny tho.

being my last studio,

it came as a suprise to me that i enjoyed it

as much as i did...

i didnt expect to had such a great time

during the site visit,

i didnt expect we could work so well as a group,

and i didnt expect to have such a lovely studio master this sem.

its funy when the best things always comes when we least expect it.

as usual,

IPAC 2010 was a success!

yippee!!

weeks of preparation was all for this one night.

it was all worth it.

ok, for those who didnt have the chance to come and watch the event,

heres a little summary.

LOve is often related with lust and ones desire for worldly matters.

but yet love is something that is actually really close to religion,

love is shown i many ways

and it was revealed in 4 major examples is this years's IPAC,

LOve towards Parents.

LOve towards Friends.

LOve towards the Prophet.

and

LOve towards Allah.

i really need to give my tanx to Kak Ada and Irwan

for choosing me to help u guys coordinate this event.

it was a huge responsibility to work as a programme coordinator

and i was proud to be able to work with

u guys as well as the others in the team.

congrats to cekgu KuZahir to a job well done with as

Movie Magic: NIGHT OF THE FAMOUS

my planning studio was the organizers for

this years planning pre-graduation dinner

at Kelab Darul Ehsan

the theme that was chosen was

Movie Magic where the guests had to wear

costume from a movie of their choice.

i decided to dress up as a Chinese Emperor,

to be exact, a Chinese Emperor from the Tang Dynasty.

hahaha!

i was soo in love with my outfit.

it was totally worth it to rent such an expansive costume!

i had loads of fun as the MC,

but i wouldnt want to be one ever again.

just because i think its not fair that i dont get to eat

wat i paid for..

hahhaa...!! me n my stomach!

i was nice to c everyone dressing up for the occasion.

its not always that we get the chance to do this.

there was only one problem during the dinner.

the head piece i was wearing the dinner was killing me.

it gave me such a headache and it wouldnt stay still!

Taman Mini Malaysia.

my Housing class had a roadtrip to Melaka

to visit the Taman Mini Malaysia.

it was a small trip

with just the 6 students of our class.

i tink Dr Mohit just wanted to have some

kind of activity for the class beside just doin

normal lectures in class..

tanks Dr Mohit for the trip!

by the time we reached IIU,

we were so tired from the trip coz

the journey back took us around 6 hours

due to the traffic jam and the many pitstops.

the Islamic Performing Arts Concert

is an annual concert held by the IIUM Cultural Unit.

This years theme is

"LOve is..."

where it tell about the love one would have toward many

things in his life.

2 years ago,

when i was in my first year in IIU,

i performed as a dancer in the concert.

this year i got chosen as a committee.

hopefully everything goes to plan.

everyone is invited to come.

it doesnt matter if ure not a student of IIUM,

u can still come!

Im a 4th Generation Kampung Baru Resident

i live in Kampung Baru,

i went to school in Kampung Baru,

i play at Kampung Baru,

i am a Kampung Baru resident.

for many, kampung baru may not seem like a place where it could

provide anything for the country -

economically, socially nor physically.

in true fact, kampung baru has been around for a very long time.

even for my family itself,

im the fourth generation who have been living in the same house

my great grandfather used to live in (Haji Yahaya Sheikh Ahmad).

my great grandfather was like some sort of the co-founder of Kampung baru.

he even has a street named after him somewhere in Kampung Baru.

people keep on bugging kampung baru,

saying that its in need of development and the place is an eyesore.

the media is sending such a wrong impression to the people by saying that.

yes, im not saying that all the houses here are of worthy of receiving medals

due to their accomplishment in housing design,

but it holds many significance in the education of our future generation of children.

unlike petaling street, which holds a potential

in the commercial and tourism sector.

but in reality,

even petaling street is still in bad shape and is rundown in some places.

but the truth be told,

the authorities were able to develop Petaling Street

due to the fact that there were no houses involved in the area.

(ok, maybe there were a few..)

and wat seems to be the problem in Kampung baru is,

it is 80 Hectares of housing.

imagine the number of households residing in kampung baru.

imagine the number of generations have been brought up in this Kampung.

imagine the feeling of the residents here when suddenly

in the newspapers it says that

"Kampung Baru resident are offeres Rm 4,000,000

to move out of their houses to make way for development."

houses in Kampung baru can be traced back to the 1900's. even my house, it was built during the 1920's. last 12th of January, Kampung Baru celebrated its 110th birthday. t-shirts were designed to commemorate the special day.

and after 2 weeks of the day,

the authorities told the residents to move??

are they really serious??

im not trying to be rebellious or anything,

i just feel like Kampung Baru is missed understood by a lot of people

and people are trying to take advantage to that misconception.

most kids nowadays would never have the privilege of looking at a

traditional Malay house. an original village. right here, in the heart

of Kuala Lumpur.

why deprived them of that chance?

why chase out 5 generations of Kampung Baru Settlers?

Why being so greedy, trying to promote development?

im all up for development,

(well, i am studying to become a town planner..)

but not all problems can be solved by money.

karma is in abundant.

an eye for an eye,

a hand for a hand.

let the decision makers choose the right decision.

we are not squatters nor are we slums.

we see no reason to be push out into the dumps.

we just wish to be left alone.

she's a Korean native who is now working in Malaysia

with her husband.

so today is the last class for

Korean 101 class.

im not sure whether she'll be teaching us again

in our next class..

if she's not,

then she'll be greatly missed.

as a treat for us,

she brought along her Hangbok to class

for everyone to see and test out.

the hangbok was really beautiful.

the red one my fren is wearing is usually one

that would be worn when somebody is to get married.

aww..

im gonna miss comin to class..

my only regret?

if only i could catch on things a bit faster...

Main Dengan Rakyat - Part 2

this evening was the third time

i joined a session with

Maen Dengan Rakyat.

this time we had the chance to play

'lompat getah"

the game is like sooo hard.

my team lost BIG TIME!

i couldnt get pass the one over the ear nyer level...

we also played a few other games

as we were to tired to play getah anymore...

(my back was already hurting..)

i love this group of people..

we dont really noe each other,

and we dont really mind,

we just gather each month,

and play a game or two..

just to have fun while fighting for a cause we

all believe in.

Orkestra Tradisional Malaysia

yesterday was the official launching of the

'Orkestra Tradisional Malaysia'

at Istana Budaya.

i had the privilege of watching the their first

performance just a few rows behind the VVIPs!!

great seats!

but the real story is that i did my first show

as a member of Asuhan Seni.

we were the opening AKA welcoming act

before everyone went it the main hall for the orchestra.

i did do a few minor mistakes,

but i dont think anybody noticed..

hahah!!

everybody gave a standing ovation!

for those who dont have eyes,

i wear bracers.

ive been wearing them for almost 4 years.

today, i was suppose to get them off,

so i was sooo excited the whole week..

who wouldnt be rite??

but guess wat!??!

they didnt take it off!

they suddenly decided to change the plan!

a plan they conjured up themselves 3 months ago!

the thing is,

it took me an hour to reach the dentist.

n my treatment only took like 15 minutes.

i had to miss my class and all,

only to change the elastics on my bracers??

wTf!??

now i have a headache.

i have tilawah class in an hour,

have to hafazan...

demm...

i havent done this since the 17th of May,

so as a treat for the readers,

ill do this one more time.

as i noticed that the 'its a fact!' series

is one of the most famous in my blog.

n im finally getting the hang of playing the pekin.

FINALLY!

i just realized that we r goin to be playing 9 songs

during our show,

on the 5th this next month

which is approximately

in total would be

1hour n a half long...

(gler kejang tgn!)

its all good tho.

Its been awhile since i last post somtin

about Kpop.

this is somtin i was anticipating for quite awhile.

ok.

the picture above is not of a group.

those 7 girls belongs to 3 different vocal groups

(SeeYa, Davichi and T-ara)

coming from the same record company "Mnet"

these 7 girls

(i wont even bother writing down their names,

coz u guys wont even care anyways)

are known for their strong vocals.

also recognized to be among the best in Kpop.

this is the second time these girls have gathered together

to sing a song. and last tyme the song

"Woman's Generation"

did quite well in the chart

n Mnet is hoping that they could repeat the feat.

the song has a trot (korean folk music) feel to it.

which for me is very refreshing coz, most Kpop songs these days

contains to much electronic sounds.

the song also highlights the girls vocals

n Hyomin's and EunJung's rapping abilities.

ill include the first performance of the song

at Music Bank so that u guys can see..

i would agree that this song would not be up to the taste

of certain people, but
